Application Requirements of Millimeter Wave Radar

According to the characteristics of millimeter wave radar, it can easily meet the following application requirements:
(1) High-precision multi-dimensional search measurement: high-precision measurement and positioning of distance, azimuth, frequency and spatial position;
(2) Radar installation platform has strict requirements of volume, weight, vibration and other environment: millimeter wave radar antenna is small in size and light in weight, which can easily meet the special environmental requirements of portable, missile-borne, vehicle-borne, airborne and satellite-borne platforms;
(3) Target feature extraction and classification and recognition: Millimeter-wave radar has the characteristics of high resolution, wide working band, large numerical Doppler frequency response, short wavelength and easy access to target details and clear contour imaging, which are suitable for the important tactical requirements of target classification and recognition.
(4) Small target and short range detection: The optical region corresponding to millimeter wave short wavelength is smaller, which is more suitable for small target detection than microwave radar. In addition to long-range millimeter wave radar such as special space target observation, general millimeter wave radar is suitable for short-range detection below 30 km.
(5) Anti-EW jamming: Millimeter-wave window can be used in a wide band, easy to carry out broadband spread spectrum and frequency hopping design. At the same time, the reconnaissance and jamming equipments of millimeter wave radar are facing the jamming problems of broadband, atmospheric attenuation and narrow beam. Compared with microwave radar, millimeter wave radar has better anti-jamming ability.
