Application of Medium and Long Distance Vehicle-borne Radar

Radar has the characteristics of all-weather, all-day operation, long detection distance and high detection accuracy. It plays an important role in vehicle forward target detection system. At the same time, the integration of vision and laser modules and the construction of ADAS system have gradually become a new development direction of automobile active safety.
Long Range Radar has the functions of ranging and anti-collision. It is widely used in automobile automatic cruise control (ACC), forward collision warning (FCW), automatic emergency brake (AEB) and other fields.
The radar is installed at the center of the bumper in front of the passenger car, and the azimuth angle is 0 degrees. If the altitude of the sensor is less than 50 cm, its elevation should be 1.5 degrees; if the altitude is more than 50 cm and the elevation is 0 degrees, it can realize the detection ability of moving targets of 150 meters for trucks, 100 meters for passenger cars and 60 meters for pedestrians.
The functions of FCW and AEB of medium and long range radar have significant safety hints when drivers are distracted, tired and sleepy, or fail to notice the situation in front of them when using mobile phones.
